Allen stars as Isaac Davis, a TV comedy writer sick of the pap he is forced to churn out and harboring dreams of being the great American novelist. His love life is in barbed-wire territory: he is tormented by his second ex-wife Jill (Meryl Streep), a lesbian who has written a tell-all book about their marriage, and he is dating teenager Tracy (Mariel Hemingway), to whom he refuses to commit, and keeps hinting that a breakup may be imminent. Isaac's disillusioned (and married) best friend Yale (Michael Murphy) has begun an affair with the cerebral writer Mary Wilke (Diane Keaton). While Isaac makes a last minute, sink-or-swim decision to quit his job and devote all of his time to book writing, and neurotically moans about what the lack of a full time job will do to him ("My parents won't have as good of a seat in the synagogue," he moans. "They'll be far away from God... away from the action") Yale is crippled by his lack of resolve, as indicated by his inability to leave his wife Emily (Anne Byrne). Meanwhile, Isaac and Mary begin to fall for one another. Tracy then tells Isaac the basic truth that none of his hung-up friends and past lovers fully realizes: "You have to have a little more faith in people." Manhattan is both a seriocomic dissection of perpetually dissatisfied New Yorkers and an ode to the city itself, filmed in glorious black-and-white by ace cinematographer Gordon Willis, and set to a score of rhapsodic George Gershwin music. Presented by Sotheby’s International Realty Affiliates LLC For more information go to http://s.sir.com/2arHLTE Brooklyn isn’t a city. It’s a metropolis of a borough. It’s also an idea. Its culture and urban sensibility have been exported to the point that Brooklynization is a phenomenon. Trendy restaurants, shops and businesses bearing the Brooklyn name--or one of its neighborhoods--appear in countries from Germany to Japan. And yet Brooklyn is very much a collection of communities, many with inviting green spaces and spectacular water views. Brooklyn real estate prices, whether pre-war, post-war or landmark, rival those across the East River in Manhattan. That doesn't surprise Brooklynites who never saw homes in the borough as a consolation prize. Dumbo and Williamsburg are former industrial areas where old factories and warehouses have been rehabbed into pricy condominiums and lofts. Dumbo is the acronym for Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass. This territory, largely situated between the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges, is now an incubator for art and technology. It has managed to retain its gritty noir feel and industrial roots, which accounts for its starring role in countless films and photo shoots. Williamsburg has become synonymous with hipster culture--music, fashion and food. The low rents that initially attracted artists to these two enclaves of reinvention are a thing of the past. ClassicBrownstone Brooklyn” is found in neighborhoods like Park Slope and Brooklyn Heights. Park Slope is a family-friendly community of shady blocks framed by a low-slung skyline that is adjacent to Prospect Park, the 585-acre green masterpiece designed by Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux, creators of New York’s Central Park. Brooklyn Heights is entirely a historic district--New York’s first, designated in 1965. The neighborhood is affluent, quiet and filled with architectural gems. One of its greatest treasures is the cantilevered Promenade that overlooks New York Harbor and Lower Manhattan as well as Brooklyn Bridge Park. The park, which opened in 2010, is a massive complex of athletic fields, food concessions, bike paths and pool with a full schedule of cultural events, entertainment and activities. From Brooklyn Heights, New York’s financial district is a quick zip on the subway. But that’s not the only way to access Manhattan. The favorite means is walking to it across iconic Brooklyn Bridge.

Looking for something a little stronger than the Martini? Enter the Manhattan. Same controls, same functionality. The Manhattan departs from the Martini in that it delves in to flanger territory while still overlapping into rich, warm, thick Martini chorus sounds. The most delicious flanger I've tasted yet!

Strong winds loosened a 4X8 foot piece of plywood fencing from a construction site across the street and it was hurled across the street by the wind. Ms. Trang-Thuy Nguyen was hit by the plywood sheet and slammed into the wall of a nearby parking garage. The force of the impact pushed the victim against the wall and she then hit her head on a metal fire department standpipe, causing a fatal injury. She was pronounced dead at Bellevue Hospital shortly after 6 pm on Tuesday. The National weather service said winds in the area at the time of the accident were nearly 40 mph. Authorities say they will investigate the fatal accident. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Next Media Animation’s News Direct service provides daily, high-quality, informative 3D animated news graphics that fill in for missing footage and help viewers understand breaking news stories or in-depth features on science, technology, and health. Too turnt like we got a steering wheel up in here 😅 Follow me on soundcloud: soundcloud.com/thruthe9 Lyrics (by request): (Um, Mr. Trump, with the exception of your family, have you ever been told no?) Oh, many times I've been told no by him Now many, many times, I mean, my whole life, really has been a no, and I fought through it. And you know, I talk about it. It's not been easy for me It has not been easy for me, and, you know, I I started off in Brooklyn, my father gave me a small loan of a million dollars, I came into Manhattan, and I had to pay him back, and I had to pay him back with interest but I came into Manhattan, I started buying up properties, and I did great, and then I built a Grand Hyatt, and I got involved with the conventions, I did a good job, but I was always told that that would never work, even my father said, "You don't wanna go to Manhattan, that's not our territory," cause he was from Brooklyn and Queens, where we gave me a small loan of a million dollars, of a million dollars of a million dollars of a million dollars of a million dollars of a million dollars My father gave me a small loan of a million dollars, I came into Manhattan, I did a good job, but I was told that that would never work It has not been easy for me, it has not been easy for me, my father gave me a small loan of a million dollars, of a million dollars of a million dollars of a million dollars of a million dollars of a million dollars of a million dollars My father gave me a million dollars, of a million dollars of a million dollars of a million dollars of a million dollars of a million dollars of a million dollars of a million dollars And he said, "Don't go to Manhattan, that's not our territory," but he was very proud of me, but all my life, I was told... "no." Even for this, I mean, they said "Oh, what do you wanna do it for, don't do it, don't do it, don't do it, don't do it, you're against professional politicians!" So far I'm not impressed, I will tell you that. (By the way, let's just put this in perspective, you said it hasn't been easy for you... but my dad gave me a million dollar loan.) No, he did. (That probably is gonna seem pretty easy to a lot of people.) You're right, you're right, but a million dollars isn't very much compared to what I've built. I mean, I've built one of the great companies, but it's always been, you know, "You can't do this, you can't do that, you can't do this," it's always been that, and, you know, and that's what I wanna do for the country. I don't own this video. It was made for entertainment purposes only; no copyright infringement was intended. The background instrumental (from Tinashe - 2 On) belongs strictly to Tinashe, DJ Mustard, and RCA Records, a division of Sony Music Entertainment. The vocal samples are from a TODAY broadcast. Those samples belong to TODAY, aired under NBC News. Again, no infringement was intended.
